Best Student Cities in Indonesia, South Africa, Kenya, Turkey and Jordan: A Reflection to Soekarno’s Legacy in 1953

In 1953, Soekarno began his steps by inaugurating Jakarta as a “Student City” at the Rawamangun Campus, a concept that later became an inspiration for the advancement of national education and major cities throughout Indonesia. He sees education not only as a learning space, but as a center of intercultural interaction, a place where youth from different regions can meet, learn, and collaborate for a better future. In this book, we strive to present a comprehensive picture of cities that serve as educational hubs in various countries by considering various relevant aspects, such as university accreditation, security, cost of living, employment opportunities, and urban attractiveness.
